I realized today that I’ve been in Seattle for four and a half months. It feels like more and less than that at once. Tomorrow I’ll be in Minnesota, where my vacation will be filled with crafts, Crackly Spongy Bread and Christmas cookies.

So, 4.5 months in Seattle. For the most part, that time has been great. I’m really excited for next quarter of school; I feel like I’ve settled in a bit and can actually handle it now. The beginning of the first quarter was rough, but I loved the second half of it. My classes are good, I’ve learned a whole lot of math, and I have spectacular friends here. I think I’ve been very fortunate, and I am grateful to the math department for being so excellent to me. Thanks, UW math department!

I’ll write next from Minnesota. My job there is to bake an astonishing number of cookies.
