I had almost forgotten how robust and "muscular" he was before he lost all that weight. Now I remember how he looked overflowing that cat bed - he really loved sleeping in it, but it seemed a little uncomfortable to me! We miss him a lot - he was such a good shadowboy. As for the rice dessert, I suspect it might have been black glutinous rice that was cooked and slightly rinsed (to remove extra starch) before mixing with coconut milk and sugar. Maybe Grandma Viv (hint hint) will have some Honeycrisps from the Pine Tree Apple Orchard available at Christmas! (I sure sound like a loyal Minnesotan, don't I??)
